The company says that Metheglin is a sweet honey mead infused with a complex blend of herbs and spices. The name is derived from the Welsh word meddyglyn, meaning "medicinal liquor". History has it that healing herbs were often stored as metheglin so they would be available over winter.

The aroma is an herbal and spicy character, with thyme, rosemary, clove, cinnamon and nutmeg intermingled with the sweet honey flavor. It has an alcohol by volume content of 13.5 percent.
