Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale is Back

Winter's Bourbon Cask AleAnheuser-Busch's popular Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale is back for a second year to entice the taste buds of beer lovers everywhere.

For those who appreciate a smooth, robust brew with rich aromas, this seasonal offering is brewed with dark roasted carapils, caramel and two-row barley malts and imported Hallertau and Alsace hops. It is then aged on bourbon oak casks and whole Madagascar vanilla beans.

Available now through February on draught at bars, clubs and restaurants, Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale will now also be sold in 12-ounce bottles in six-packs at grocery and convenience stores.

Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale is great for not only sipping at your favorite bar, but also as a nice match for seasonal fare. Try this ale with clam or corn chowder, triple-cream brie or camembert cheeses, or pork roast with applesauce and toffee pudding.

It's brewed at the Anheuser-Busch Fort Collins, CO brewery and has 6 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). It is the second in a series of seasonal beers, which includes Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale, Spring Heat Spiced Wheat and Beach Bum Blonde Ale.

  • this beer was a really good idea but kinda but vanilla is so overwhelming that it leaves a cotton candy taste in your mouth.

  • oh but cotton candy is such a wonderful comfort-food, this beer just leaves you wanting more. The bourbon flavor hits strong at first but then dissipates and leaves you wondering "mmm, where can I find the origin of that scent?" I absolutely adore this beer. I am quite surprised that it is an Anheuser-Busch product.

  • I had this at my local "micro-brew" bar. I thought it was fairly good. The vanilla is a little bit too strong. When I asked who made it, I was shocked when I was told AB.

  • i have to say this is a GREAT tasting beer!! suprising for something from Anheuser Bush!!! Then again, I love bourbon. It may not be for everyone, but I plan on buying as much as I can before February.

  • I generally detest anything Anheuser Bucsh. But, being a specialty brew I thought I'd give it a try during the Pats / Browns game. I'm happy to say it was a good choice for a whoopin. Not to heavy. Strong taste of bourbon ( A fave of mine) and a nice finish provided by the vanilla. Its a little pricey but worth on occasion.

  • I accidentally opened and took in a mouthful of Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale. My eyes lit up with surprize and pleasure. I truly enjoyed the entire beer and the wife couldn't put her's down either. I'll be stocking up on it so I can share this wonderful flavor with friends and family.

  • I haave had some beers in my time but this was out of this world. Can someonee pls tell me where I can buy this. Would love to unwind with a bottle of Bourbon cask. Hmmm hmmm good

  • I agree with most....I was shocked to hear this was an AB beer. To me it had such amazing, awakening flavors. I would drink this beer any time of the year. We have a local brewery that comes up with flavors like this so I expected it to be them. But a lovely beer. Anyone who hasn't, should try it....
